I bought it from a gal who divorced her husband and kept the bike. You wanna know how much I got it for?

lol... well, we both walked away with our dignity and conscience intact, and she had my cash and I had the bike so I can honestly say the transaction was on the level.

Nice....A friend of mine bought a bike from a guy for like 1K because it had 'major problems' the transmission was shot, it wouldn't even go into Neutral, it wouldn't stay running, etc....

Apparently the guy never heard of 'GP Shift'....ooops! took about 30 seconds for her and her husband to realize, try not to laugh, pay the guy as fast as they could and get the heck outa there with the bike..

I was originally looking at Honda Shadows. They wanted $7K for a new one. I glanced over, and there was a spotless '02 Yamaha Road Star 1600 sitting there with little bugs still on the windshield, for $7K. I love, love, love mah bike!!

Now I just wonder if this is going to turn into a sportbike, cruiser or touring forum. Hope it stays a good mix of them all.
I went away from H-D's and started with a Road Star at the first of the summer. Liked it so much I bought a Venture. And just put a car tire on it! Yeah, I know... I'll crash and burn!

Only if you try to race Rossi at the track. I think on the right bike it is not only safe but it also looks good too.

The Roadies ARE sweet, aren't they? Yamaha definitely did good, on the Road Star. The design, the engine, just... everything! (Well, except for the stock seat...)
