David Starr about to get smashed

David Starr got yanked out of his truck at the end of today's Craftsman Series race and looked like he was about to get his ass whipped by the crew of Todd Bodine.

Starr raced sloppy all day and lost control of his truck several times, wrecking three other drivers - Bodine being one of them. At the end of the race as the trucks left the track Todd Bodine bumped Starr to let him know he was unhappy... Starr then stopped his truck next to the Lumber Liquidators pit, which was not a smart move considering he wrecked both of their trucks by overdriving his. A huge fight erupted with fists flying - twice. Finally the police and NASCAR officials got a hold of the situation.

When interviewed, Bodine mentioned that David Starr has a tendency to overdrive his truck if it is set up well. He said Starr's truck was set up well and he was driving past his limits and shoving the truck into lower grooves knowing that it wasn't going to stick. Bodine said that the three times Starr struck other truck driver's rear left quarter panels was, "A really dumb error by a veteran driver... He doesn't know when to choke down on the reins and slow down a little bit."

While Bodine maintains that the two are friends, there are probably several others in the NASCAR circuit right now who aren't feeling so friendly towards Starr - especially the Lumber Liquidator pit crew who now has to fix two trucks that were wrecked by Starr's overdriven K&N filter Toyota.

By the way, Ron Hornaday went on to win the race and keep his momentum. He is now only 74 points behind Johnny Benson.
