Ben Spies battled with Rockstar Makita Yoshimura Suzuki team mate Mat Mladin before finally opening up a lead of almost nine seconds, getting his seventh win in a row, setting a new superbike record.
Mladin won race two at Road America, breaking the streak. Jamie Hacking continues to be consistent at showing up on the podium, putting a Kawasaki in the mix with the Suzukis.
