| Gixxer Girl | Finally! a new undertail..... So it only took me 3 years to finally get to this.....and I really can't take credit for it anyway. I have a really really awesome friend and I came home last night and found it in my garage like this.... We had started on it at his house this weekend and had it all ripped apart but while he was drilling out the holes for the bracket he had an 'incident' with the drill and his hand...and we had to stop. I figured we would just finish it up this weekend but he surprised me and had it sitting in the garage waiting on me last night. I did it the very cheap way - bought a metal bracket at Home Depot for about 1.50, the turn signals were about $15 and the led lights to aluminate the plate were about $20 all from Cycle Gear. So for about $40 I have a nice pretty undertail and no more gigantic mud flap. The wiring wasn't too hard, just a matter of connecting the new stuff where the old stuff was. We actually pulled the entire tail off so I could remove the Scorpio alarm I had on it. Probably would have needed to anyway just to make it eaiser. I still have to get it inspected and will either need to mount a small plate under the license plate for it or see if they will put it on the swing arm for me but she's all done and purty. Now I just have to get my new tires on and she'll be ready for riding.... Before - ![]() After - ![]() Side View - ![]() |

| Spider Interwebby Thingy | Dammit! I want to see it, but the images are red x while I am at work. This I have to check out when I get home. An incident with the drill, eh? That is why you should just use a torch for everything. Fire doesn't have sharp edges. ![]()

| Gixxer Girl | Well the 'inciden't consisted of him holding the bracket in his left hand while using the drill and kinda wiggling it around to make the hole bigger when it slipped and landed on the fleshy part of his thumb taking a few chunks of skin and digging in pretty good. It really wasn't that bad just looked all chewed up and it's not like the drill was clean. So I helped him wash it all out and bandaged him up and we stopped for the day.... |

Okay, no more off-topic from me. I am just jealous because I can't see the undertail modification photos until tonight so I am ruining a perfectly good thread. ![]()
