Question What Would You Do If Someday You Couldn’t Ride No More?

The prospect of it is just about unthinkable, especially when we’re a lot younger – starting out – and the proposition of 100’s of 1,000’s of roads we’ve never ridden before beckons us on. Oh sure, as they say ‘Schitt Happens’ as you go along thru this particular life… but for those hardiest of souls they can (and do) find a way around most all the Crud to keep Biking. Still, though some may marvel at the construction, durability and ability to recover of the Human Body – I’m saying even among the worse Motorcycles you’d care to name out there… they still remain more reliable, repairable and will still be around (restored by someone, with the ‘talent’…) long after we ourselves are all dust! Nope, with the multitude of things that can and do go wrong with most folks that can stop em’ in they’re tracks (regardless of level of sheer tenacity…), if you should find yourself (whatever you believe in Forbid…) with the short straw on that draw, what would YOU do?!

No joke, would really like to know, cool? Nuff’ said.

I would probably have to find something else to be as passionate about. That is a good question; I will have to think about it some more.

I'm with Adrian, I'd find something else I could do and get just as involved with it. Before I moved to TX I lived in PA and traveled a lot and I skied all over the US 5-6 times a year. I'd take vacations or just happen to be working in UT or CO that year and I spent every chance I got on the slopes. I can still ski but when I got to TX and got involved in track days I decided that since I live in TX I might as well enjoy my year round riding and spend the time I'm in the South enjoy it.

Some day I will move North again, and when that happens I'll probably be left with only 4-5 months of the year to do track days, and that's when I'll get back to skiing.

I'm sure I'd do the same if I couldn't ride, I'd find something else and put my heart and soul into it. It's not so much WHAT you do as the fact that you have a passion for something. I think that's what keeps every one of us going.

I do lots of other things now. I'd just do something else. That said, I'd still try to find a way to ride. Even if it was on a trike or quad or as a passenger, I'd do what I have to... I'm a old man. I have left many activitys behind already. It's not really too far fetched to consider this.
I'd never be a bench racer. I never was a spectator. Always wanted to do things myself.
