Helmets Made to Order: Humans, or Machines?

I was reading an Arai ad that boasts about their helmets being "hand made by humans." That seems a little superfluous since most of us will agree that if hands are making the helmets, they were most likely attached to humans.

But it got me to thinking. Robotics are pretty advanced now, and there are countless cases where machines can perform tasks that humans either can not, or they cannot do it as quickly and efficiently as the machines do.

So, with that in mind: which would you rather have? A helmet made by a human, or a helmet made by a machine?

Not that I don't trust the human "helmet expert craftsman", but I think I'm more comfortable with a machine making my helmet.

If helmets lasted a lifetime it might matter to me but since I replace mine every 3 to 5 years as long as it fits, is safe, and functions like I want it to then I'm not too picky.

I tend to replace mine every few years also but I would think a machine would be better. Less chance of it having a bad day and not caring at that moment in time when mine comes though.. Human error is higher than machine error generally I would think.

I have an Arai right now and I love it, I always had Shoei before and this one fits much better and has for 3 years now. Not sure if that has anything to do with how it was made vs just that it was made slightly different that shoei or HJC, etc. some brands just fit certain people better no matter if they were made by hand or by machine
