| Spider Interwebby Thingy | My next two motorcycles If Yamaha builds this R1 next year, I will buy it. ![]() If I find a suitcase of money, I will buy this VTX1800F too: ![]() I am accepting donations if anyone wishes to help put either one of these machines under me.

| As of late I've been considering that my next motorcycle might very well be smaller, not bigger?! Given the fact that for 36 (out of 51) years I've been steadily progressing to larger and larger bikes - beginning at 160cc (Honda Twin) and now at 1507cc (Victory V-Twin) though there sure are bigger scoots out there still (our 2nd year here a guy on a Boss-Hoss showed up - he let me straddle the bugger - Mega Huge!)! I think THIS Rider himself has reached HIS limit?! I got to admit thinking at first the object of my affections for two years running now (Hyosung or United-Motors GV650 Cruiser) was too small?! Now I’m not so sure. This apparently is a ‘large-framed’ (much like a large framed Handgun) machine set up for typical Yankee Riders (big!) so that shouldn’t be a problem?! ![]() My current Victory is big, we're talking crush Harleys big! I think I might just be ready to start going back the OTHER way now?! I know I sure don't want to go back to my gettin' blown all over the road days of 500cc and under - owch! And I'm saying speeds now are faster then ever - 75 mph is the max I ride at and folks seriously pass me like I'm going backwards! Yikes?! I'm thinking 650 just might do it?! My last 650 was a 82' Yamaha XS650J Secca Turbo Four - definately NO slug! LRG __________________ ![]() ![]() |

| Spider Interwebby Thingy | Your dirt roots are showing... Those both look like they cost more than I can afford to pay for a bike, and I would probably break my helmet open on a rock out in the middle of nowhere if I had that BMW.

| Well seems like the Eastern states are paving everything so I'd better ride all the dirt roads I can while they are still here. I think the BMW was around $12 pretty close to the cost of KTM's 950/990 Adventures but hopefully without the issues. |

| Super Moderator | It was announced yesterday. I got this photo of the Yamaha Website today. The intro videos show a black bike. But the black does not show up as an option. It's now yellow. All info I can find, still shows the exhaust under the seat. The only things I will change immediately is the location of the brake light and signal cluster. I'll need to tuck that up a little higher... And find a way to integrate the front signals into the fairing. Just to pull them in a little tighter too. Last edited by Mark; 09-10-2008 at 10:00 PM. |

| Spider Interwebby Thingy | If it is like my R1, the brake light is in the tail section above the exhaust. That part you see between the signals should be the license plate light, and it will all come off pretty easy... couple of bolts and some wires and you should be good. So you are really going to get one?
