New motorcycle trailer being built

Here are some photos of the new trailer being built:
  1. I started by laying the frame rails in place so that they can be fastened up
  2. Then I used the supplied bolts to start putting together the box that would make the frame
  3. The front box starts to take shape and then
  4. I put the rails in place that lead up to the hitch. Does it look like a trailer yet?

Starting to look more like a trailer...

  1. Once the rear section was build and placed next to the front it started to actually look like a trailer.
  2. I lifted the whole thing up so that I could fasten the attachment for the suspension, and then started tightening all of the bolts once I had the frame squared up.
  3. The leaf springs were attached, and then
  4. The rear axle was attached with the U-bolt kit.

Making a trailer a motorcycle trailer.

Now it is time to actually make the trailer into a motorcycle trailer:
  1. The wheels were put on before I went to sleep that night.
  2. I went shopping for wood, and brought home the 4x8 sheet of plywood and all the bits and pieces needed to put a motorcycle on a trailer. Then once it was all put together, the painting began. The channel for the tires was painted black.
  3. The rest of the trailer uses a black and white checkerboard pattern. The paint is a flat black with sand mixed in so that it isn't slippery when wet. I will need to paint it again pretty soon because flat white paint won't stay white very long. Next time I will add some clear coat mixed with sand though.
  4. My truck box was put on the trailer for storage. I have been wanting to get it out of my truck for a while so this was perfect. With the exception of the motorcycle front wheel chock, some wire primping for looks, and cutting and painting the ramp, she is officially a motorcycle trailer now.
