hello
i am new here and have some questions
well i want to buy my first bike
i am lookin at a 450 that is being sold cheap
is that too big for a starter
i am 5 foot 5 and weight like 130 pounds if that helps make a decision

I know several people who have started off on bikes larger than that; I started on a 954cc bike. It can be done; the bikes are usually heavier, and you have to take it easy with the throttle. Have you taken the MSF course yet? If not, I would encourage it.. they teach you a lot of cool stuff there and usually make it easier to get your M license.

well as of right now i am not getting that bike the owner decided not to sell
i am looking for anything between 400 and 600

Well that sucks. Sorry to hear about that. Where abouts do you live? Are there lots of bikes in your area?

i live in pretty much the middle of pennsylvania
there are a good many riders but not a lot of bikes for sale

Hmm. That sucks. Have you tried craigslist? I know people who have bought bikes from off craigslist.. just be careful that you actually get the title and bike when you hand over the money.

Are you still growing? I noticed you said you are 5-5... unless you don't mind one footing at stops you may have difficulty with the standover on some of the bigger bikes.

well I'm only 15 soon to be 16 id say I'm still growing
I've luckily grown 5 inches in the last year
this bike is pretty sweet for a 250 eh?

too bad my budget is about 1000$ since i need to save for a truck also

Yeah, that is a pretty nice bike... if you take the salesperson hostage you might be able to get him down to 1000...

Here is a Kawasaki Ninja 250 that sandiegogirl21 just listed. She got a new bike today so she is getting rid of her old one.

ha the taking hostage is a good idea but id be gettin a bike for free if it came to that :]
i looked at that craigs list and there is only one bike close and the guy doesnt list the size just that is a ninja?

Hmm. They come in different sizes; the smallest that I know of is the 250. How much is he asking?
