You are changing your oil too much.
Dad always preached about the 2,000 or 3,000-mile oil change. But take a peek at your car’s owner’s manual. Manufacturers typically suggest 5,000 miles, 7,500 miles or even longer intervals between oil changes.
If you live in a cold climate, take mostly very short trips, tow a trailer or have a high-revving, high-performance engine, then dad was right. Otherwise, go by the manufacturer’s recommendations, and put some cash back in your pocket. Oil ain’t cheap anymore.
